 Our flowers come in a fully recyclable box with newsprint you can compost or recycle, and a chiller pack you can re-freeze and reuse.  The orange NZ Courier Post perishable tape that gives the box priority delivery is the only item that needs to be binned.

How to care for your fresh Peonies

Thanks for purchasing your peonies from Pure Peony, here are a few tips on how to make them last as long as possible (7-10 days)

1. Get your vases ready with water, a teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of white vinegar. Stir well to help dissolve the sugar. 

2. Trim the stalks to your desired length and cut on an angle to allow for maximum water absorption. (leave a bit extra on for future trimming) Your peonies may have slightly limp foliage on arrival but after a few hours in water they will perk up. 

3. Every two days just trim a little more off the stem to freshen them up and add a teaspoon more sugar to the water. 

4. Display them out of direct sunlight – heat will make them open faster.

 NB: If you want your peony buds to open quickly then put them in a vase with warm water and in a warm spot in your house. This will speed up the opening process.
